Maryam is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher completing her senior Yoga training with YogaCourse. She is a member of Yoga Alliance International. Maryam is also a fully qualified school teacher with experience teaching children aged 5-18. Maryam has received additional training in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. Alongside her senior yoga training, she is also completing training be an accredited Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher with Trauma Therapy Manchester. Maryam has experience working with clients suffering from Chronic Pain, Long Covid, Fibromyalgia, M.E. and Cancer. She teaches classes in both group settings and with clients individually. Maryam is a BIPOC (Black Indigenous Person of Colour) advocate, working to improve representation of minority yoga teachers and students in the West. She also works closely with her local council in order to make Yoga more accessible to lower-income South Asian minority groups in her area.

Maryam’s teaching methods are very student-oriented. She works with her students to help them understand their own body and needs. She often uses props and offers modifications in her classes so they are as accessible as possible. Students are not required to wear fancy clothes or partake in any aspect of the practise they are uncomfortable with.
