Background Information:
Annette is a Specialist Dietitian, working in the NHS, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Dietetic Association (BDA). She is trained in a number of NICE guideline recommended treatment approaches, including MANTRA (The Maudsley approach to ANorexia TReatment in Adults). Annette is unique in that she has received extensive training in various psychological therapies to further enhance her dietetic knowledge and skills, and to enable her to take into consideration the link between thoughts, feelings and eating when working with individuals. The psychological models Annette has experience in are:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
- Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy
Annette has over fifteen years' experience of working with adolescents and adults in NHS mental health services (including GP surgeries, community child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), specialist outpatient eating disorder services and inpatient services). She is a leader within her profession. She has chaired the Mental Health Specialist Group of the British Dietetic Association and works as Dietetic Clinical Lead for CAMHS in Leeds. She has written papers related to eating disorders and nutrition, and is regularly asked to present nationally.
Within the sports arena, Annette works with numerous teams and individual athletes to support them to enhance their performance through expert nutritional advice tailored to meet their specific requirements, training load and personal goals.
