Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine | Auricular Acupuncture |
Emotional Freedom Technique | Fengshui
Acupuncture is now widely used and accepted all over the world and in the 20 years I have been practising Chinese Medicine its benefits and effectiveness have been increasingly recognised by a growing body of evidence.
It works with a holistic approach to restoring the body’s equilibrium through the use of very fine needles to regulate the flow of ‘Qi ‘ the body’s vital energy.
It can support a persons health and well-being both generally and specifically, helping support or tonify energy, calming the mind, ease pain and increase feelings of well-being.
It can be used to treat:
Tiredness, fatigue and ME
Stress and anxiety
Headaches and migraines
Supporting natural fertility and IVF
Neck and back pain
Menopausal and menstrual problems
Sarah has been in practice for over 20 years and still feels happy and privileged to practice a discipline which works for so many people.
She nursed at St. James University Hospital in Leeds and subsequently trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. She has had wide-ranging experience of treating most health problems and has also spent 10 years working at a project in Bradford for people with addiction/hepatitis C issues and 8 years with different projects in Leeds and Wakefield supporting people with HIV and AIDS. Her work also includes training drugs workers and others in the use of auricular acupuncture for addiction issues.
For many years she was affiliated to the Zita West network for Reproductive Health, and continues to see many women dealing with fertility issues.
She has also participated in a Department of Health funded research project comparing the efficacy and cost -effectiveness of treating chronic neck pain with GP care and also Alexander Technique. Hopefully this study by the Department of Health Sciences of York University will lead to acupuncture being recognised by NICE ( National Institute of Clinical Excellence ) as a recommended treatment.
Sarah also promotes health and well-being in other ways. She practices EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique -which involves tapping on a series of acupuncture points to restore emotional balance, and Fengshui, the ancient art of looking at and helping a person find balance through the context of house and home.
She recently graduated as a teacher of Dru Yoga.
She is always happy to answer any questions about your situation.
